Hi All,
This is an Ernie Ball MM Stingray5. I had It PLEK'd by Mike Lull about a year ago at the end of a Broadway tour I was playing. I bought this bass new at The Music Exchange in Chicago near the end of '07. I liked the sound of this bass so much that I bought it with a check mark in the finish by the bridge. All basses are absolutely not created equal and this one sounds wonderful. Loud acoustically, punchy but even, opens up nicely up top, no "dead" spots! I covered the check mark up with a dragon sticker I bought in Japan while on tour with RENT. I didn't have this bass in Japan, However. I also put a sticker on the back that makes me laugh. The check mark is about an inch and a half long, but I wont take the dragon off because I think it looks great. Other than a scuff mark on the headstock, this bass is in wonderful condition. With the PLEK by Mike, this is the best playing (and to me sounding) Stingray on the planet. I won't be sad if it doesn't sell. $1000 CONUS plus shipping. This bass is a great ride! |

It was a crack in the finish that was done at the factory when the bridge was put on. It does not extend into the wood of the body. I had Lull look at it when he PLEK'd it, and he said it was fine. I liked the response of the neck and lack of dead spots so much, I bought it anyway. I put it into a show I was playing, and the soundman preferred it to my MTD. |
