FS: EBMM Classic StingRay--all-white/maple

SOLD!

This is a great bass in many respects. The two-band preamp sounds better to my ears than the three-band, the weight isn't bad for a slab-bodied 'Ray (10 lbs.), the mutes are a cool option and I love the looks. Notice in particular all the flaming on the front and back of this neck!

So why am I selling it? I have too many basses that aren't getting played. And frankly, I let my desire to try a 2-band 'Ray and this bass' classy looks overshadow the fact that the tone still isn't fully for me. Indeed, it's the last bass I'd use in the band I started after buying it, so I haven't touched it in months other than taking it out for pics. I've got less than 10 hours' total playing time on it, it has the stock Slinkys on it and it hasn't left my smoke-free apartment.

I've tried in vain to look for a scratch on this bass--I can't find one. The plastic is still on the pickguard, and it comes with the case as well as all the case candy.

Bullet points for the time-pressed:
*Gorgeous flaming on the neck
*Minty--no scratches found, plastic still on pickguard, <10 hours' playing time, has never left my smoke-free apartment
*Original Slinkys still on it with a lot of life left on them
*Comes with original case and all the candy
*10 lbs.

Here are a few pics, followed by a link to a bunch more shots (some are repetitive, but I'd rather provide too many pics than too few).

Album: Classic Stingray pictures by gcarlson1663 - Photobucket Most of the good neck shots are on page 2.

Price: $1350 shipped, Paypal's OK. No trades, please.

Thanks, Ray! You're a class act, man. Oooh boy, I'm terrible at fretless, but I bet that sounds good!

Thanks, hehe. Are you referring to my Minutemen AV? I may bring that back soon.

....been watching this. It's exactly like mine except mine has the birdseye neck and board. That flame looks HOT!!!

I just took mine apart for a refin and I was floored at how well these 'rays are built: brass inserts for the bridge bolts, pickup screws and the battery cover plate, and all the other screw holes were tapered out at the top so there's no paint chipping or sawdust under the pickguard.

Interesting, JJ. They do seem very well put together, but I didn't know the details. Thanks!

I've got a potential deal in the works, but it's not firm yet. Still-available bump!

Bump for a good TB'er, and a sweet bass.
I've been thinking about a StingRay lately.
The only thing I have to move is my LOG bass

That's a tough choice, LOG P5 or rare color combo 'Ray.

If I win the MegaMillions tomorrow, this will be mine though :-D.

Thanks, John! Dude, stick with that LOG bass, you know a P5 is right in your wheelhouse! As soon as you gave it up, you'd be wanting another one.

LOL! Good luck, JJ, I'd love to sell it to you for slightly less than a million.

A holy-hell-shipping-has-gotten-expensive bump!

If you box them like Lakland does: hardcase with minimalist sized box, shipping is a lot more reasonable I've noticed. Double boxing and/or lots of bubble wrap etc really isn't needed. :-)

Yep, yep--I used a fairly compact box (about 4-5 inches longer than the case). I think that heavy US Lakland case pushed up the weight, but higher fuel costs are driving up prices right now.

Evan, you have an incredibly cool bass that makes me wish like hell I played fretless. Someone needs to buy that beauty ASAP! Or you just need to keep it. And thanks, a deal has apparently been made.
