Another bass on the selling block...
This is a 2001 Ernie Ball Music Man Stingray. I replaced the pickup with a Nordstrand MM4.2 and the preamp with an Aguilar OBP-3 with the push/pull mid switch (400Hz/800Hz.) This bass is currently strung with TI Jazz Flats with a low-ish action but it can easily be raised. I'll also include the original EBMM stock pickup. I'm not sure of the exact name of the color but it's basically Shoreline Gold. EBMM hardshell case is also included.
Are you looking for a 'Ray with crisp but smooth treble, grunting mids, and subterranean bass? Want to cop Paul Denman's and Bernard Edwards' tone? THIS is that bass.
I played this bass at my wedding and it pains me to sell it, but I'm not playing it anymore and it deserves to be played. I'm also trying to finance a new double-bass purchase so sentimentality is out the window. The only real cosmetic issue is where a paint bubble chipped the paint under the heel. It's inconspicuous when playing. Unlike my other basses that I've been selling, this one has been played A LOT. But I've loved it and cared for it and it plays like butter.
I no longer have the original pre but I will include the original pickup.
