You definitely don't see these very much! This is a US Made, EBMM Sterling SUB. It's fretless, which is rare, but it's also in the multi-color prismatic CINNAMON color. It's reddish-brownish-greenish, depending on the angle. Yes, it's the textured finish, but it's different colors.
These basses are fantastic, a lot of people like the SUB series in general, but the Sterling has the 3-band eq that seems to be mellower than the normal 3-band of the era. In my ears, it sounds more classic.
The neck was stripped and finished in TruOil, which makes it so much nicer than the thin, black painted way it came.
The pickup cover was replaced with a no-holes version. It's the same pickup... just no pole pieces to hit your fingers. Sounds exactly the same, but easier to dig into.
My scale doesn't work, so I'll guess 9-9.5 lbs.
It's in fantastic shape, only minor wear for a bass of its age, small scrape pictured in last shot. Neck is straight, plays like butter.
Includes Musicman molded SKB Sterling case.
