FS/FT: Epi Thunderbird Silverburst w/Thundertrons & OHSC

Sign in to disble this ad
Taxes are biting a bit this year so I'm going to have to unload a few things. First among them is a Epiphone Thunderbird I received in trade at the beginning of the year. The previous owner installed TV Jones Thundertrons in it and upgraded the pots. These pups definitely make it into a monster thumper. Strung with what seem to be a set of Chromes. Very good tone...and the looks definitely demand attention! I hope redstrand doesn't mind me using his post for reference. I will include the original pickups as well as the like-new Epiphone hardshell case. Asking $450 shipped CONUS. Thanks!

Bump. Lowered price a bit. This bass is near flawless...like-new condition.

Opening this up to trades as I've found another cash source.
Mainly looking for Precisions, MIA Peaveys or GK700s-1001s. Let me know what you got!

Curious how the Thundertrons compare to the stock Epi pups and or the Gibson TB+ for both output and tone. Any sound clips? How does the neck pickup sound with the tone rolled off?

Haven't recorded at all with it yet and currently don't have a way to record. The Thundertrons yield nothing but power...pretty exhilarating, actually. Neck pup soloed with tone rolled off is how I usually have the bass set...a nice vintage thump with the flats (think Taxman by the Beatles). Rounds really bring life, plenty of zing.

I could leave the Chromes or put on a set of newer Lo-Riders, whatever the receiver wants.
