I purchased this bass about a month ago as combination repair project/short scale experiment. I've since completed the repairs and have gotten my hands on an original Gibson EB-0, so it's time for this bass to move along.
Background: the original neck was cracked in a drop by the previous owner. I re-glued the neck and it held well, but when I went to adjust the relief, I discovered that the truss rod must have been broken in the fall. At that point, I ordered a replacement neck to put on the bass, which arrived in excellent condition. Bass has felt perfectly solid since the transplant, and is strung with a fresh set of D'Addario Half Rounds.
The body has definitely seen some wear from the previous owner(s). In the interest of disclosure, I have photographed all of the marks I can see on the bass, so check out the link below. None of these marks affect the playing of the instrument at all, or even the feel. Just slight visual distractions to some, while others might consider it "character."
I've spent the past few days playing the bass in to see how it feels and sounds, and I've been quite happy with the setup. I'll ship the bass with the strings detuned, and you can set the bridge height to whatever pleases you. Asking $140 shipped CONUS. Willing to ship elsewhere, just PM for shipping quote. Bass will not include a gig bag, but will be packed well to prevent damage. I'd be willing to provide a basic gig bag for an additional $20.
