FS: Epiphone Expert, 6 String

Sign in to disble this ad
I am ready to part with my "blast from the past" Epiphone 6 string. The combination of an ash body, 34 inch scale, neck-thru design, and jazz pickups, have always made it a favorite. I have been told that these well built basses were only made for a brief period and are increasingly hard to find. The Korean made Epiphone Expert was made in the early 90's, and is by no means your "typical" Epiphone. It currently has J99 pickups, a Carvin/Hipshot style bridge, and a flat out awesome Kawai active (vol, bass, treble, blend) preamp. I will include the original hardware and electronics, but there is no comparison. Ships in a so-so (but protective) old school hardshell case.

SPECS:
Hardware Black
Guitar Type Electric
Body Ash
Body Construction Solid
Neck Wood Maple
Neck Attachment Neck-through
Neck Construction 3 Piece
Fingerboard Rosewood
Frets 24
Inlay White Dot
# of Strings 6
Scale Length 34" (86cm)
Cutaway Double
Finish Natural
Guitar Hardware Black
Pickups Single Coil
Pickup Configuration S-S
My reason for listing this wonderful playing and sounding 6 string jazzbass is the narrow string spacing. 16mm at the bridge. After playing 18-19mm, there is really no turning back for me. Although because of the sound, it still ends up in my hands often. It has been played. there are multiple light surface nicks, scratches and minor dings but nothing that is severe or even possible to be seen with my limited photography skills.

365.00 shipped , in the USA. OBO

Exact width of the nut?
Thanks, seen this before on TB and it is interesting, I'm looking for narrow spacing and nut width, actually

The nut width is 2 inches , string spacing is 16.5 mm. If you desire narrow, this could be the one. Thanks.

Wow ! I am impressed. Your first bass was an Epi Expert. I haven't met many people that even heard of them. You should definitely know what this bass is all about then. AND...what a steal of a deal that is being offered. It is still in available. I am mulling over a few tempting trade offers but cash is king.

Oh yes, I know that's a deal. I bought mine for $500 in 2000 when I was 14 and it was a steal even then, hehe.

Price Drop: AGAIN....

If you could find another one: It would not be at this price.
These cost over a grand in the 90's, during the limited time that they were made.

You make it irresistible to pickup a 6 string.
