FS: Ernie Ball Musicman Stingray5 - blue pearl, rosewood

Sign in to disble this ad
I have for sale an Ernie Ball Musicman Stingray5 (or Stingray 5).

It's a gorgeous blue pearl with a white pearloid pickguard and rosewood fretboard. There's also a touch of flaming on the neck. I picked this up recently and it sounds amazing. Punchy and thick like any great Stingray. Just trying to move it so I can do some Christmas shopping for my family.

I'll try my best to describe the condition because I believe in full disclosure. In short, it's a workhorse. There are surface swirls and fine scratches like any bass that's been gigged, but there's some buckle rash as you can see in the pictures. The pickguard also has some deeper scratches between the neck pickup and the neck, around where a thumb rest might be. It's impossible to see in the pictures. There are a few superficial dings around the bass which were too difficult to capture on my phone's camera. Lastly, there is a tiny chip in the finish near the output jack, which is also pictured.

Comes with Musicman hardshell case in great shape.

$900 shipped to the 48 via Fedex! No trades please. Just bought a motorcycle, so I need the extra cash!

Good looking Ray. I'd be all over this if I hadn't just bought a new Aguilar rig...

Is the truss rod maxed out? Ernie Balls had a problem with that for a few years.

I'm not sure, didn't check. The relief is fine so I didn't try flattening or loosening the truss rod at all. Will do that and report back tonight.

just moved the truss rod wheel in both directions so I don't believe that it is maxed out. Didn't want to turn it anymore all at once.
