Here we have a real ESP (yes, made in Japan!) J-Four Jazz bass with the coveted 2-Tek bridge. As you will clearly see, it's GREEN with an ash body, maple neck, and rosewood board. Of all my basses, I've actually had this one the longest. It also gets used the least, so it's just time to let it go.
The neck is ultra skinny, one of the best Jazz necks I've ever played. You know those 'baseball bat' necks that you hear about? Yeah this ain't that. Skinny, thin, super fast.
It has a 2-Tek bridge. What more can I say about that?
I upgraded the pickups and pots. Pickups are DiMarzio UltraJazz, volume pots are push/pull DiMarzio's which do series/parallel switching. Honestly though I never really used parallel. The series sounds huge and fat, yet growly so I just leave them there.
These were made in the 90's, so don't expect mint condition here. Then again, don't expect to see any abuse. You'll see some good, honest play wear here. Just nicks and dings that a bass gets from being played. This is not a museum piece. It's meant to be played.
This is simply a great sounding, super playing Jazz Bass...with a sleeker body..that is a workhorse and needs to be played. If you're a stickler for weight, don't bother. Not that it's super heavy, I'd have to guess it's over 9 pounds, but if you're super sensitive to weight then a 2-tek bridge is not for you.
I need to double check, but I think I have a 'soft shell' case for this. Not as hard as a hardshell, but harder than a gigbag.
$375 shipped, IF you're on the eastern side of the USA. If you're out west, shipping will be $20 extra. AL or HI, well..it won't be cheap for you guys
Not really looking for trades, but if you have a 5 string, 35" scale (like an Ibanez BTB??) then try me. MUST have at least 18mm spacing.
If you're local (Greenville/Spartanburg/Columbia/Augusta) I may be interested in amps & cabs.
