For sale is a beautiful Fbass BN5 that I purchased new ~6.5 years ago from fellow TBer Adrian Garcia / Access Bass (RIP).
It is the standard ash body / maple neck version with an enhanced "natural black grain" finish that really highlights the nice wood on the book matched (2 piece) body.
The neck is actually a one piece (rather than 3 piece), which is apparently something George F would do depending on the wood quality and is has a nice subtle flame. With the slim (front to back), asymmetrical profile and minimal finish, it is a joy to play.
Electronics are the current F-bass configuration and are extremely flexible, while always staying musical. Custom dual coil pickups in a volume, volume, tone control layout. There are pull posts on bridge volume knob to switch to single coil mode and a pull pot on the tone to bypass the preamp. The preamp is a three band boost-only configuration well tuned to the sound of the instrument and not too extreme in range (they still sound good dimed). The treble control and passive tone combined is particularly sweet sounding.
Tone varies from Marcus to Jaco (really) and can sound very traditional as well with a bit more low mids and more volume in single coil mode.
I just put a brand new set of F-bass strings on the bass and did a setup and intonation. Setup is currently very low and buzz free.
Condition is near flawless with only some nearly microscopic finish checking on the front of the headstock.
I'm asking for $2400 shipped (CONUS) including the (pictured) F-bass gig bag.
