FS- FBB 7 String

After a bad car accident and resulting spinal column issues, it is clear that I can no longer make use of this bass. Originally looking to trade it (see this thread FS/FT FBB Fretted 7 w/Audere ), it's now for sale. FBB will be building me a new bass to replace this, so this will help to fund the new build.

FBB # 1112-06, 35" scale fretted 7, 18mm spacing at bridge, Hipshot hardware, FBB custom pickups, Audere Z preamp, passive by-pass switch to VOL only. 5A quilted maple top, African Mahogony back, 5 piece rock maple/bloodwood neck-through.

This is a serious bass, my main player for the past 4 years. It is a working bass, so it has some minor bruising but nothing significant (no gouges, chips, etc), mostly just some mojo funk from working hard. Currently strung with LaBella flats (.029-.049-.069-.089-.109-.128) six set with a high F SIT .018 plain steel.

Clips of the bass are in several spots on my web site and YouTube channel. This bass plays incredible well, has a huge presence in a live setting, excellent balance, thin neck profile, and is a striking looking axe. It's a big boy, too .... when looking at pics on my web site, keep in mind that I'm 6'5" and 250 pounds ..... not a small bass by any stretch.

Outright sale for $1,800 shipped. I'm in no rush, so "payment plans" are cool with me. PayPal is fine, too.

Give a shout if there are any questions .....

March 3rd ... Got rear-ended while sitting at a traffic light on Rt 9 in Old Bridge ... guy was doing 50 mph & never once hit the brakes. Screwed up my C5 & C6 discs, so any pressure on my shoulder causes dizzying pain. Some junk messed up in the lumbar, too, but that might heal on its own.

As long as I sit down I'm good to go. No more dancing around on stage though, and the single cut design isn't working that great for me. FBB will be building me a new fretless 7 in the next batch run .....

BTW, I'm a lifer at Lorenzo's .... strange joint for sure ....

Hi Ed!!

Hope you're healing - we'll be in NJ this week at the Cape May retreat center (cleaning), so we'll be keeping you in our prayers.

All the best!!

Thanks fella's ....

Just had an epidural in my spine, seems to have helped quite a bit. I've got almost free motion in my neck for the first time in many months ..... if this will help me continue to improve, I might just be pulling this back from a sale and having her de-fretted.

However, right now she's still available ....

Sorry to read about your accident. This bass looks awesome & deserves a free bump.

Thanks

I sort of forgot this thread was still open .... there has been some limited progress with my back and hopefully continuing therapy will keep working. I can at least move my neck now freely, something I haven't been able to do for the past 5 + months.

I'll leave this open for a little longer just in case someone is really interested in the bass, and if not, I'll most likely de-fret it in the not too distant future and keep it, it's a great sounding/playing bass .....
