I have really been getting into motown music and wanted a sweet classic P to play along with some tunes. I have played tons of Ps but couldn't find what I exactly liked. This is the bass I decided to build after playing a 62 RI and realizing that is what I want. Unfortunately I don't have the dough for a vintage P or the 62 Reissue. So I decided, why not try to build one from parts? This is merely a feeler because I bet I will regret selling this but the truth is I have finally made the transition to 5 string and going back and forth is messing with my mind. So the only possible trade I would consider is a five string P. I already have a 5 string J and Ray, so those bases

are covered.
The parts:
Highway One P bass body w/ BA II bridge (2006) It is probably a 7/10 for the very critical. It has some scratches and dents. I wanted a nitro body because I liked the feel of the finish, it seems lighter, and the bass sounds like it resonates more. It has the grease bucket circuit. I have debated about wiring it to an old school setup, but this current setup sounds good. The BA adds to the sustain. I know some of the guys want a vintage bridge to avoid that, but I rely either on my muting technique or a big piece of foam. So it is the best of both worlds. I know people would rather prefer the covers, and I agree the look great. Practically for me they just end up getting in the way and take them off. A future owner could add them, same goes with a tug bar...I just don't use the stuff so I didn't bother to add them just for a look.
MIJ 62 Reissue neck with stock tuners - Someone removed the serial number, ol well plays great and and is in amazing shape! 1987? It is a B style neck, 7.25 radius? with 1 5/8". I would have liked to have gotten a 1.75" C? style, but the deal I got on this neck was great. So if you are someone who prefers the a jazz, this is a nice compromise. Besides the serial number rub off, the neck is in exceptional shape, no fret wear or dings.
62 reissue Fender pickup - Replaced the Highway one pup with a brand new pup from MF. Sounds great!
Tort pickguard. I drilled a spot with a drill press to get to the truss rod adjustment at the end of the neck. For full disclosure, I bought this off ebay and it was a cheaper guard. The holes do not line up perfectly, so some of the screws are gently in at a bit of an angle. I did not want redo the holes, or screw up the current holes. I learned my lesson and in the future will spend the big bucks for the OEM parts. I still have the original white/cream pickguard and that would be included if the owner wants it.
Currently strung with TI Flats.
I had to use clamps to get the neck and body to line up because it was such a perfect fit; this neck & pocket are like glue! Combined with the BA bridge, this bass has sustain!! This bass is also very light, slightly over 8 lbs, less than 8.25 lbs on a weightlifting balance style scale.
Overall, I have an incredible sounding/playing bass. Building an instrument from parts can always be a risk, however I lucked out with this one. It exceeds my expectations. I have included a sound clip of the bass using some foam. I ran the bass through my Line6 guitarport directly into my comp modeling a B-15. Forgive the sloppiness, I just did something quick.
I am going to ask for 650.00 plus shipping. Let me know if you have any questions or interest. I am really not in need of a trade.
