1975 Gibson Ripper

The closet is getting too full again, so here for your consideration is my '75 Tobacco sunburst Ripper.

It's an unusual bass, not only for its rare and beautiful finish, but also due to the fact that it is one of a very few wide bodied Rippers made of alder. It is therefore lighter in weight compared to maple Rippers and is a true pleasure to play.

This bass does have a few minor surface nicks and dings here and there, but otherwise is unusually clean for its age. There is an area on the back of the bass where the clearcoat has lifted slightly due to a reaction with the vinyl strap that it was stored with. At some point, someone had moved the strap button to the heel of the neck, where a small hole remains.

All of the electronics function smoothly and flawlessly. The bass is strung with Fender flatwound strings and comes in its original hardshell case.

Asking $1350 - no offers for trade.
