FS feeler: 95 Musicman Stingray 4, well played! (lotta pics)

I just acquired this bass on 3/17. Plugged it in and it was AWESOME! Then a day later, my dream bass gets offered up, so I HAD to buy that today (an 88/89 SR5)... and as much as I'd LOVE to keep both, I think it's best I just try to sever ties with this one before I get myself in trouble and fall in love with both! I'm a 5 string guy at heart, what can I say?

1995 Musicman Stingray 4. Birdseye neck, ash body (both with crazy amounts of figuring and beauty). Old style bridge with mute "mountability", but no mutes are on this one (were they ever in '95?).
Weighs in at 10.8 lbs.
Set up with a used Ken Smith Tapercores, includes the D'Addarios it came with, as well.
Action is nice and low with no buzz.
Battery has full juice.
NO CASE OR BAG INCLUDED... but could be, read on.

The bass was previously owned by a touring musician. This means that the body has battle scars. Chips and dings, a few gouges, and a LOT of scratches on the body... call it "Natural Relic" or "Mojo", it means that it's been used a lot and you don't have to worry about scratching it... It's already been done for you I'm not going to list or photograph all of it, I'll just put it to you this way:
If you care about any of these scars enough to not want to buy it... don't buy it. It's beat up, but beautiful. It's all non-structural stuff, too. No cracks, not even in the finish at the base of the neck!

Speaking of the neck, it is amazing. One friend said "This neck is like sex." I honestly have no idea how to take that, really, but it's probably best to paraphrase Mr. George Michael:
"[This neck] is natural, [this neck] is fun, [this neck] is best when it's one on one..."

Seriously, though, I gave the neck a good treatment to make it feel extra buttery smooth. It cleaned it up and made the figuring look even better. Definitely a player. The neck isn't screwed up in any way. There's a little fret wear, dings on the headstock, but where the hands actually go is very nice... VERY nice! Yes, there's a bit of darkening of the maple, but this happens. You can't feel it and it matches the rest of the "mojo".

The chrome is very clean, too, by the way. Looks bad in the pick, but I've cleaned it up since then.

I got it at GC and can return it any time before Apr 12, should I want to, but I figured I'd throw it up here for what I have into it and see what happens...

$750 + shipping
(I have a brand new G&G Hardshell Fender case that I got from Craigslist. I want to keep it for another bass, but could sell with this for an extra $100, which is what I paid for it, too. Brown tolex, orange fuzz, Fender logo)

Let me know if you're interested.
US only, paypal only, PM me for a shipping quote if interested and include zip code.
Not really looking for trades, but certainly run them by me.

THE OPTIONAL CASE

Here's some pics of the case. I definitely would like to keep it, it fits another bass I have, but it's up to the buyer...

The end of the headstock is shorter than the Fender bass would be, so there's a gap. A rolled up strap would keep that secure, but it fits absolutely perfect in the case otherwise.

And don't stare at the orange (in person) too long or you may burn your retinas!

Oil finish.
The treatment I used was just smoothing it out with fine steel wool and superfine sandpaper, then lemon oil.
It's like a Teflon pan now!

Thanks, dude! It's packed up and ready to go!

A moose covered in maple syrup and hopped up on Tim Hortons coffee couldn't dent this thing!

It'll be out to you in the morning, thanks again, please love her in a way that I never could...

Sold!!!!
