I have to list this as a feeler because I am not sure I can let this go. The EBMM SUB5's are hard enough to come by and a passive 5 is rarer still.
But since I am not giving her anywhere near the playtime I though I would, I should put the feeler out there.
This bass as noted is a USA made 5 string Ernie Ball Music man SUB. this is essentially the budget Stingray 5 string. This has a unique passive 2 band system with tone pots that work as bass and treble boost and cut, respectively. I don't know how that system works but it sounds great. Much like the active version but with more articulation, or "cut." And much gentler on tube amps which is why I bought this one.
The bass is generally in very good condition. When I bought it, the bass was way grimy so I had my tech take it apart and meticulously clean it and set it up. It sparkles now and features a new set of D'Addario strings with less than an hour of play time on them. Only cosmetic issues are a pencil dot sized ding near the lower horn as pictured below, a little dinging at the tip of the head stock as shown, and some wear in the area where the neck meets the finger board below the G string. Now I cannot imagine the left hand technique the prior owner has (or lacks) that could have caused that wear but it is impressive, though in an inconspicuous location (thankfully!). The wear is NOT down to rough wood. The finish feels nice and smooth and even. I suspect this is just a function of the thin black coat, or maybe the guy tried a cleaning agent that didn't agree with said finish coat.
In any event, I would like to get $525 shipped CONUS for this one but as always, I will entertain best offers. If you are in MST or PST time zones, please add $25 for extra shipping costs. I will ship this one in a gig bag but the bag is a little ragged with a tear near the bottom. It can be sewn if you are handy like that, but at the very least it will give the bass a little extra protection on its way to wherever.
International sales are cool too, but please PM me first so we can work out feasibility of shipping and extra shipping costs.
Pics below. Feel free to PM any questions and thanks for looking.
