On the block: a Fender Custom Shop '64 Jazz Relic in sunburst. Background: I'm the first and only owner of this instrument. I purchased it new in 2004, and was my main bass for about three years. Since then, I've been playing mostly Precisions. Description: The instrument's build quality is superb, and it is in excellent condition. I would describe the degree of relic'ing as medium, with some very nice checking on the body, a few well-placed pock marks, and some genuine wear at the point where your forearm rests when you play. The neck is really comfortable, with moderate wear on the back and beautifully rolled edges on the fretboard. The body is extremely resonant.
The instrument is fitted with a custom tortoiseshell pickguard made by Tony Dudzik at Pickguardian. It was recently set up at Corner Music here in Nashville; it has low action and sports Thomastic-Infeld Superalloy roundwound strings. The weight is somewhere around nine pounds. (The "tug bar," which is missing in the photo, will be reinstalled prior to shipping.)
The instrument comes with original hardshell case (black w/orange plush, also in excellent condition), case candy (including ashtrays), factory pickguard, and the Certificate of Authenticity.
New, these go for $3400; used, they run anywhere from $2400 to $2000. My asking price is $1900 plus shipping. USPS money order, Paypal, cash. CONUS only, please. Thanks, but no trades.
Here are some preliminary pics. If there's interest, I can take more.

Dean's was one of the unfortunate folks that was hit hard w/ the flooding in Nashville last week! I believe he managed to saved most of his equipment, but his home wasn't so lucky!
We wish you and your wife the best in trying to recover from such an unfortunate event in your lives.
