FS feeler: G&L SB-1 (like new)

Hey Y'all,

I'm fine-tuning the collection and thinking that this, the most recent acquisition, could go to make room for one other bass I'm thinking about adding. I really like this bass and might just keep it and add another, but the responsible thing would be to let one go for one coming in. Responsible is good, right?

It's a brand new (bought new by the previous owner, sold to me shortly afterwards) G&L SB-1 of current vintage. Still in mint condition with the plastic still on the tortoiseshell pickguard. Fullerton red finish over an alder body with a rosewood fretboard and a slick satin #8 neck (1.5" nut width, 12" fretboard radius). Only 8.6lbs (nice and light) it will ship in the G&L molded case with all the original case candy.

I'm asking exactly what I paid for it - $800 shipped in the contiguous 48, paypal OK

The only trades I'd do are:

G&L L-1000 (1.5" nut width, <=8.75lbs)
G&L Trib JB2 (<=8.75lbs)
G&L US JB2 (<=8.75lbs, 1.5" nut width, color/fretwood combo I like)

pics coming tomorrow . . .

I played it again last night - wonderful. It is in brand new shape but there is one thing that is not uncommon with G&Ls (and basses in general). If you run your fingers down the edge of the fretboard you can feel the frets. I've had it happen on a number of basses, new or used depending on the environment they came from. With some it went away after they acclimated to my locale and others did not. Only once was it ever bad enough that I took the bass in and had it worked on - and this one is not like that, I don't even notice it while playing. It was sold new from Arizona so it lived in a dry climate for a long time and hasn't been here long enough (less than a week) for me to feel it's acclimated so I don't know long term if it's going to disappear or remain.

Sooo, if you buy it from me and after several weeks it's still present and bugs you I'll contribute up to $50 (based on a thread on another board what a reputable shop in NYC would charge for it today - the one time I got it fixed it was $45) towards getting it taken care of.
