TRADE PENDING
Ok, here's the deal - this thing began life as a pretty typical natural finish Peavey T-40. Somewhere along the line that all went away. Here's my disclaimer - I am at least the third owner of this one. I did not do any of the modding myself - I've just enjoyed playing it.
Here's a quick run-down:
- Fretless neck with a new fingerboard installed (not sure of the wood - looks like it might be ebony, but I'm not an expert)
- T-40 body with a new top put on - previous owner said the top was koa (again, not a wood expert. I have no reason to doubt him, but if I'm wrong....that's where I'm getting my info).
- Grover tuners
- DiMarzio jazz pickups
Obviously none of the hardware is original. This one plays like a dream and can still achieve a lot of tonal variety. I'm not completely sure I'm ready to let this one go, but figured I might as well see if there's interest.
I'll throw out a price of $ 500 450 425 shipped with a gig bag and see what happens.
I'll do my best to answer any questions.
Thanks for looking.

I'll get closer pics of the neck and an approximate (read: bathroom scale) weight up soon.

Like I said, not totally sure on the fingerboard material. All I know is that it's smooth as silk and easy to slide on. It's got flats on it and no chew marks on the surface.
Also, since someone mentioned it, the weight is between 10 and 11 lbs. on the bathroom scale. It's got some weight to it.
Also, in the interest of full disclosure, I noticed two small dings on the side of the neck near the pocket. Here is a pic.

| | | | Hmmm...
I'm a die-hard T40 fan and I should be cussin' and spittin' mad about this but I kind of like it. Hope she finds a good home.
I like that top wood. Good luck with the sale! |

Thanks!

When I read "heavily modded" I wasn't sure what to expect, given some of the butchery I've seen lately. I must say however, this was a pleasant surpise. Very cool

I'll go ahead with one more price drop.....how about $425 - anyone in for $425?
