The bass is basically new and I’ve only had the privilege of playing it about a dozen times since I’ve had it. I bought the bass new just a few months ago and it is by far, the nicest bass I’ve ever owned. So nice in fact, that it is making me nuts not being used. I play both bass and guitar and it seems that in the last several months it’s been a lot more guitar work so sadly, the bass sits untouched.

I’m not 100% sure I’m ready to sell but I thought I’d see what the pulse of the community was.

Here is the original info from LAG when I bought the bass last year:

Jerzy Drozd Excellency V
Here is one of the basses we recently received from Jerzy.
His most popular model, the Excellency is a deep-set bolt-on design bass that
combines the sustain of a neck-thru and the snap of a bolt-on.

Some details :
Body - Etimoe
Top - Burl Black Poplar
Neck - 35" Maple / Wenge with Ebony fingerboard
Pickups - Jerzy's own JeDXS Split Singles
Preamp - Aguilar OBP-3 with mid frequency select switch , active / passive switch and full time passive tone control.
Bridge - Jerzy;s own design, made by Jerzy
Tuners - Gotoh

A remarkable bass.
With the Ultralight hardshell case , this bass was $4,860 just a few months ago. I'm looking for a reasonable offer. For the sake of following the rules, let's say the asking price is $4,200 O.B.O.

(UPDATE: Weight is just under 10 pounds.)

Ok. . . .

Again, the idea is to get some feelers (a.k.a. OBO) but, if this is what it takes to keep everyone happy, we'll start here.

You're not making the masses happy. You're keeping your ad up.

Nice bass, BTW...

Folks, Jerzy's basses are really something. I just recently acquired my second one, and it's just as nuts as the first. I don't know what this one weighs, but they're typically modest to light weight due to the smallish body size, and the body sculpting makes them hug you far better than any typical back body contour "belly cut" ever could. They play completely effortlessly, the D and G strings don't "fade away" on you, and the B string is something to behold.

Another thing worth noting... even thought the OBP-3 is stock, the pickups were specifically designed to pair with that preamp. I've used OBP-3 preamps before and they're ok, but it's never been as good as with a Jerzy.

Dude, I hate to see you let this go, these are REALLY hard to find in the USA, and are as great as they are "rare".

Absolutely stunning bass! I've never had the pleasure of playing one, so I cannot comment there, but from an aesthetic standpoint, these are the most gorgeous instruments made, IMO. Pure art, without the over the top gimmicky schtick like some others, coughrittercough,

Free bump!

Such as:
Lakland
Marleaux
Warrior
