I never thought this would happen, but a “dream” bass has just become available that I can’t pass up and I am trying to raise funds. I absolutely love this bass; I normally wouldn’t be selling this but times being what they are, and I don’t need multiple 4 string fretless basses.
This one is a handmade John Suhr Classic J Jazz Bass. Alder body, rosewood fretboard (with really nice grain), 3 tone burst finish, tortoise shell guard, stacked knob controls. This bass is literally stunning – plays like a dream, mwah for days, nails the Jaco tone but also very flexible, just like a classic Jazz. When I bought this, I was looking for a fretless Jazz and chose this one over several others. Excellent condition – I have barely gigged with it, and I couldn’t find a mark on it. Comes with a heavy-duty custom fit hardshell case. $1800 plus shipping. Pickup available in Seattle area or I could drive to meet.
