FS Feeler Musicman Stingray 5 in silver and black

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi folks,
No longer just a 'feeler', NOT for sale.

I am putting up for sale my daily worker, a 2001 Musicman Stingray 5. This bass is bone stock, with plenty of nicks and cuts (or mojo), but nothing that affects its playability. The neck is gorgeous; it has aged beautifully over the past ten years.

I think I paid about $1395 for it; Based on the conversation below, This bass is for sale $950 shipped CONUS or $900 cash locally (Los Angeles area).

Here are some pics:

Thanks again for your input.

I'm all for mosh pits and such, but did you have to take that beeeeautiful MM with you every time you dived in there?

Bump for a lovely looking bass, "mojo" and all!

No mosh pits; I just happen to play on some really small stages - next to a drummer whose crash cymbal is right next to me (hence my tinnitus).

I think that $1100 would be a fair market offer, but maybe I'm wrong. Please let me know...

Thanks!

Well, something has come up and I'd be willing to make a killer deal for someone local...

It's probably only worth about $800--if that much.

All I can say is I've seen SR5s go for $1100 in really good shape. This one is pretty beat up. I'm sorry, man.

My SR5 is near mint and if I was selling it I think $1100 would be fair.

EDIT: Here's a near mint 2000 SR5 that sold for $1100

Thanks for the information, although I think taking $800 may be a little hard for me to swallow. I'll offer it up for $950 shipped or $900 locally and see what happens. Much obliged to everyone for the input!

950 would be a great deal for this bass.

Also be careful guys:

Q: What if someone’s asking price is too high?
A: Sellers are entitled to ask any price they want for their item. Please do not contact a seller regarding their prices unless you’re interested in purchasing the item. Also, do NOT question a seller's price in a For Sale thread. Making offers via PM or email is OK, but thread interference (debating price publicly) will not be tolerated.

A pm is a great way to communicate without cluttering up a thread.

Good luck!

It's all good, both of youse... I posed the question; if I can't take the constructive input, then I should get out of the kitchen - so to speak. I know the difference between personal/sentimental value, and market value. Craig was able to show that the market has reflected a value of $1100 for a mint bass, and although my SR5 is no beauty queen, she does have an awesome neck and full functionality. Since there is no evidence to justify his claim of $800, and since I've received PM's that recommend between $900 and $950, I will offer it at those prices.

I've said my peace, now I'll count to ten...
