FS Feeler: NEW '09 Warwick Streamer LX-4 - Super Slim Neck, Antique Tobacco Finish

Sign in to disble this ad
I am sure to regret this as this bass has the most comfortable neck I've ever felt on a 4-string. It was made in '09, after Warwick slimmed down the chunky baseball bat necks.

Bought this brand new in November '10. It has never been gigged; it has been played maybe a dozen times. Still has original strings on it. I haven't even registered for the warranty.

It has a big, growly sound. Check out Ed Friedland's review of the LX, though that one is a special edition with a redwood top.

I am asking for $1,200 shipped to Continental US. And you must pay by PayPal e-check.

Is it more of a Jazz neck now? I had a 08 $$ and loved the chunky style neck. How does this compare?

This is slimmer.

Pre 2000 Warwick necks used to be slim. Then they introduced the chunky necks. The slim neck was available only through their custom shop. But starting in '09, the slim neck became the default neck.

This is as slim as a jazz, but flatter and bit narrower.

I think it's the fastest neck I've played and I've owned/own the MM jazz, geddy lee jazz, Sterling, etc.

Bump for a beautiful bass at a stellar price! I've got a '99 which I absolutely love (yes, it's up for trade but only because I want a 5er 'wick) and it has the thinner neck. They're phenomenal, and anyone who has been turned off to Warwick's because of the thicker necks really needs to give this a try! Super comfortable and quick.

Good luck!

I think it's a fair price. used ones go for like $1000. A pratically brand new one should go for $200 more.

And this is what the bass sounds like in a mix. I ran it through a SWR Marcus Miller pre with some mids cut and bass boosted.

I rather have a cash sell.

Possible trades +/- cash: Stingray 4H Slo Special, Fender American '75 RI jazz, deluxe jazz V in ash/maple or any other 5 string jazz in ash/maple

Bump

And price has been lowered to $1150. The A-string tuning machine had broke on this but I've changed it.

Other than that, this thing is mint. Has never been gigged with. And has the fastest neck I've ever played.

Flamed Maple body with Ovangkol neck. My highly inaccurate scale shows little less than 8lbs.

In any case, don't confuse the weight on this with that of other warwicks. The others are mostly bubinga--which is pretty heavy.
