I am going to hate myself forever if I sell this, but I really need the money, so I would like to judge interest on it.
On the block today is my beautiful Peavey Palaedium. These are incredible instruments with all the appointments of a much more expensive bass.
Some notable features include:
- Tilted headstock (no need for string tree)
- Dual graphite rods in the neck for stiffness
- Incredibly small neck profile. 1.5" width, but very shallow. Hands down the thinnest neck I have played
- Very thick Ebony fretboard
- Alder body
- Two Quad-Coil Bartolini pickups (designed with Jeff Berlin)
- BadAss II bridge
- All passive
- Under 9 lbs
The bass is in good shape, though it does have a number of nicks and dings throughout. The most notable condition issue is a bit of chrome wear on the neck plate. Someone must have played a lot of solos.
The finish is the glossiest I have ever seen and really shines when polished.
All in all a very classy and elegant looking bass that plays as well as anything I could imagine.
Tonewise, it is not at all "classic" sounding. Instead it has a beautiful midrange bark that is neither dark nor bright and cuts through the mix amazingly well. Very hot output for a passive bass.
If I sell this, someone will be getting the bass of a lifetime. These are hard to find.

The contours are super deep on the body. It's really quite thin and comfortable.
