Hey guys,
I've been enjoying playing this bass for a couple of years now and it has served me well. When I first bought it, I enjoyed the Bartolini soapbars which were installed under the wood pickup covers I still have, yet I wanted to see if I could improve the sound. I contacted Mike Pope and had him create a pre for me and had it installed along with EMG 40's.
I have all of the emails exchanged with Mr Pope to prove it's authenticity.
Surrounding the pickups is some basic wood colored putty which is both non damaging and easily removable should you wish to put the original pickups and covers in. I will include them as well. There is only one pictured but I do have both of them.
There are a couple tiny dings on the bass as you may be able to see in the photos, but they are not very obvious. There is a bit of thumb wear in between the bridge and Neck pickup. Near the control knobs there are some small indents in the natural formation and sanding of the wood which I thought I would point out. These are not dings but the nature of the Burl.
It's a great sounding and playing bass. 24 frets. 33" neck. Mother of pearl inlay dots. It has a 5 piece constructed neck through design. I am unsure of the wood combinations but I would guess it is a maple/alder/quilted cocobola blend with a very unique burl top. Have a look at the photos and maybe you can help me identify them.
I have done a number of shows and recordings with it and am willing to send audio clips to potential serious buyers. I bought the bass for $2100 in nearly identical shape as it is today, paid $450 for the Mike Pope and roughly $225 for the EMG's. Everything included I am asking $2400. I will throw in a Fodera Teardrop case with it at my asking price.
Actual shipping via Fedex.
