Just for starters let me emphasize,
I do not need nor really want to sell this bass (and can certainly see myself chickening out at any moment and closing out the post) but at the moment I have a real glutton of basses in my collection (including another absolutely gorgeous Status T-bass which is also currently up for sale
FS: 98 SE Status/Trace Elliot T-Bass). Seeing as how both of these basses are not getting the play time they deserve, I guess it's time to share the love

.
You are looking at a gorgeous example of a genuine custom shop Rob Green Status Empathy 4 string bass.
I bought this bass a few years back from a guy who purchased it used from the old Bass Centre in London.
At the time, the Empathy was pretty much top of the Status line combining the Status graphite technology with a more traditional wood body. The body and wings of this bass are mahogany and both the top and back are capped with a gorgeous piece of figured walnut. The stringers are maple and the maple binding is created by a thin sheet of maple between the body and the walnut top. The bass is very light and balances perfectly.
This bass has the Status Hyperactive pickups coupled to a bar none 18v active electronics system. The electronics are
extremely flexible and versatile. The controls consist of master volume, pickup blend, bass, treble, and a variable frequency midrange. The midrange control alters the frequency, somewhat like a parametric, between 300Hz and 3KHz and works in conjunction with a 3-position switch which cuts, boosts or keeps the mid EQ flat.
Now here for the full body disclosure...
The bass is used and has the usual superficial scratches, swirls and dings you would expect to see in a bass that has been played. On the rear of the headstock (on the A tuner) a screw was replaced somewhere along the line with a non original. It looks as if it may have been overtightened during the installation and caused the finish to crack below the tuner. (Nothing major, but worth mentioning.) In addition, the instrument has the following cosmetic issues as shown in the photos... On the front there is a 1mm ding towards the the top of the body. On the body back there is a 2mm radius circular ding and two visible 40mm long scratches on the surface of the clearcoat. On the back of the upper horn there is a 4mm circular mark and some surface scuffing. The circular mark was caused by a previous owner relocating the strap button and was professionally repaired by Bass Centre's luthier. Nevertheless, the mark is still visible through the finish and over the years the new fill finish has shrunk slightly so there is a slight depression in that area. Now, all this being said, the bass is really in overall superb condition and will not dissapoint! I just like the buyer to be fully aware of what they're purchasing.
The neck has zero issues and is as straight a graphite neck as I ever played. You can really set the action up on the deck on this one if you choose and the notes really ring out clear as a bell all up and down the neck.
The electronics function perfectly.
The bass will be packed up like a champ (I'm a real stickler
about that).
The sale price is $1975 boxed/shipped and fully insured.
Price now dropped to $1900. Paypal echeck is of course preferred, but standard Paypal is fine. (Like I said, I do not want nor need to sell this one so the price is firm)
