I got this bass in a trade not long ago and decided to upgrade the parts on it. If it were not for my burning desire for another F-bass I WOULD not be selling it. This is basically a Fender 60's Jazz bass copy. L-series s/n which from what I understand is sought after. I would put this bass up there with the Nash bass I used to have only this bass has better parts IMO. I will also include the original parts that I replaced (minus the pickguard which I don't have). Here's the deets:
Body: Swamp Ash (confirmed by my luthier when he took it apart)
Finish: Original White (nicely relic'd). truss rod cavity routed for access to truss rod.
Weight: Approx 9 lbs
Neck: Maple w/ Finish taken off the back of the neck (professionally) and original frets dressed and look like new. Left matching headstock but finish professional removed from rest of the neck. There is a shim on the side of the neck pocket that my tech put in there to make eliminate any gap in the neck pocket but professionally done. NO shifting in the neck at all and looks pro.
Fingerboard: Rosewood and told it may be brazillian rosewood just not a striking piece of brazillian rosewood.
Pickups: John Suhr Vintage single coils KILLER KILLER KILLER TONE!
Control Plate: Fender with orange drop cap.
Bridge: Hipshot Vintage
Tuners: Gotoh oval baseplate clover leaf (like Fclef basses)
Pickguard: replacement custom by my luthier. Material is parchment 3 ply
trades/cash ok but really only looking for a Markbass F-500. However, I would take a Modulus GVJ (maple) neck if somebody has one they want to let go of. The only other thing I would consider would be some Nordstrand Big Single or Big Split 5-string pickups..
I am asking $650 shipped to CONUS with Sadowsky gig bag.
