FS Feeler: Upright sounding Wendler modified jazz

Sign in to disble this ad
Considering parting with my mint condition Squire Modified (Jaco ) Fretless. The interesting modification was done by Dave Wendler using his passive piezo technology. Dave makes great instruments, this one is different as it retains the ability to go fully convention using the two magnetic pickups, , rather than the one pickup Dave uses. (Dave's basses tend not to have a bridge pickup). Plus his instruments are several times what im asking.

I plan to post an email from Mr Wendler describing the specific mods done to my bass, as well as photos shortly. For now, the site, which includes sound samples

http://www.electrocoustic.com/index.html

This bass has flats (I believe Thomastiks) and can come with a gigbag if u want. Very fairly priced at $400 + shipping

Dave's description of this setup

Hi Scott....

Pot 1....master volume for magpi side
Pot 2....lead pup volume...so you can use the bridge pup by itself.
Pot 3(small knob)...this is the bias control. Functions as a balance between the piezo and neck mag. All the way towards the neck is about 90% mag....rollled back towards the piezo is about 40% neck mag and 60% piezo.

You can darken up the overall tone a bit by backing off on the volume pots about 10%...you'll notice the sound getting darker before it's starts to turn the volume down.

My favorite sound was running both the volumes at about 90% and the bias about halfway.

Hope this helps. Let me know.

Call me tomorrow if you'd like....

Best,
Dave
