I've put a down payment on a real Ric, so now I must liquidate some items to get to where I need to pay it off. Don't really want to sell this, but it seems imminent. Thus, the feeler.
Anyways, this is a early-mid 70's Ibanez Rickenbacker 4001 copy. When I bought it, it was advertised as a Shaftsbury, but after doing some research, concluded that it was in fact an Ibanez.
It's currently strung with flats and tuned to C-standard, but I can get it set up any way the next owner wants it. The pickups are humbuckers, rather than single coils. So you won't get that genuine Ric growl. But this bass sounds killer in it's own right. Two things...the truss rod cover is missing and at some point, someone tried to remove and reinstall the binding. The work is pretty shoddy when you look at it up close, but from far away it looks fine. Everyone sees this bass and thinks it's a real Ric...everyone!
Looking to get $400 + shipping via Fedex w/insurance and tracking. Like I said, this is a feeler...not really sure I wanna part ways with this bass.
These are the only photos I have at the moment...take a look.
And here's a song from my band recorded using the bass.
