I have one of each. A Classic '50s JUST like this one and a MIJ E-Series P. I think the stock pup (same as the pre-2012 Am. Std. pups) in the Classic '50s is better than the stock one from the E-Series. Neck width at nut is 1.75" on the '50s, and 1.625" on my E-Series. I have an SPB-1 in my MIJ, and it kills!
But they're both really nice P's. If I play the MIJ, I think, "MAN, this sounds great!" But then when I pick up the '50s Classic, I think, "Man, THIS one sounds great too!" I personally prefer the 1.625" nut width, but I alternate between both of them and the Jazz basses with no problem.
Don't mean to hijack - just answering a question. But bottom line is, this Honey Blonde is (IMO) the best color of the '50s; and this is a great price. Unless you dislike the nut width, I'd be shocked if anybody was disappointed with this bass. Grab it while you can!
