FS Fender 08 P5

SOLD

2008 Fender P5 in Classic Black and Maple fretboard. This bass is as new with absolutely zero dings, scratches, buckle rash, or chips anywhere. Neck is perfect. This bass has never been out of my studio on a gig or anywhere else. The package with all the case candy has never been opened so it is all complete. The Fender flight case is also included and has not one scratch on it either. Shame really that it hasn't been played but alas too many basses in the herd and that leaves an as new bass for you.

This bass was bought new by me from The Perfect Bass in Baton Rouge, La. one day when I went in and just fell for it. They had a red one hanging on the wall and we took it down for a test run. After falling for it they told me there was a black one in the back never out of the box, so after seeing and playing it, well the red one stayed the this one came home.

You all know the quality spike Fender had in 08 and this bass is a great example of much improved quality. In the past I had tried three other Fender 5 er's and just did not care for them at all. All the previous models had B strings I just could not take.
This P has a very nice B string that sits in balance well with the rest of the bass, very much unlike previous models. Can't really tell you why, but it does.

The fret work on this bass is amazing. On par with a Sadowsky or other high end bass the neck just feels like butta. Weight is 9 pounds 2 ounces by my digital scale so pretty light for a fiver. Balances well. The bass is completely stock except for Sadowsky Black Nickel strings I installed when I first got it and they have very little playing time on them.

Seems the street price on these are about $1400 new now. I can assure this would sit under the tree like brand new and would make some bass dude very happy.

Pics at: http://s536.photobucket.com/albums/f...a/Fender%20P5/ My photography skills do not do the bass justice. I have never learned how to photograph a black anything without reflections, dust particles, etc.

$950 shipped to the 48 states. No trades.

Thank you for looking!

Had a PM on how tight the neck pocket is.

Just looking at it there appears to be no gap on either side. Have had past Fenders that the gap was visible. I don't have any feeler gauges to measure with but I couldn't snag a fingernail on either side so if that unscientific measurement means anything I would say the neck pocket is pretty tight.
