FS: Fender 50th Anniversary Jazz Bass - NEVER PLAYED!

I'm selling my Virtually-New (i.e., I'm not a Fender dealer), un-played 50th Anniversary Jazz Bass. This is the recent limited-edition candy apple red Jazz Bass. It includes the original case, UNOPENED case candy, all hang tags, and a hermetically sealed issue of Bass Player Magazine devoted to the 50th anniversary of the Fender Jazz bass. All new plastic protection is still on the pickguard and the tuners. The bass weighs 8.5 lbs. on my relatively accurate bathroom scale.

MOST IMPORTANTLY, this bass is being sold for $1700, including double-boxed and insured shipping within the CONUS. New "street" price on these basses is $1999, IF you can find one! This would be a great "investment" bass to put away for many years and see what happens to its value.

Why did you remove the bridge cover? That's a great price. Surprised you haven't had more interest.

Thanks for the interest, everybody. At this time I'm not interested in any trades. This is purely a "thin the herd" decision in light of an upcoming layoff. I removed the bridge cover purely for storage purposes. I originally purchased this instrument as a "speculative" investment (which is the reason is hasn't been played).
