FS: Fender 60th Anniversary P-Bass

Excellent condition. I do not have a scale, so I don't know the weight; but it's probably the lightest P-Bass I have. Really nice grain which shows through the Blonde finish nicely. Unfortunately, my camera isn't the greatest; so you can't see it too well in the pics.
$1,125.00 shipped within CONUS. U.S. Postal Money Order. Not really looking for trades, but I'll always listen. I might not be interested, but you never know.

Includes original hardshell case and unopened case candy. I don't really need to sell this, so I'm in no big rush. But I feel like I have too many basses now. Especially P-Basses. Nice Christmas present for yourself!

Beautiful bass. I am looking for one but would need to trade my American Deluxe P bass. If you don't have any luck selling and would consider a trade I am open.

Thanks Dundee. The thing is, I'm trying to downsize my number of basses, so I'm not looking to trade for another bass. Appreciate the offer though.

Why don't you sell your Deluxe, then buy this?

Hey Bill. I have D'Addario Chromes (flats) on her now, but I have the original rounds as well. I'm a flats kind of guy, so I swapped them out right after I got it. If anybody prefers rounds, I can slap the originals back on it before shipping.

Bump for a fine bass, and for one of the nicest guys on TB.

I may list my bass and hope that yours is still available if and when my bass sells.

How's this bass compare to your other P's? I've heard good things about these so far.

Hey Robin. Looks-wise, it's gorgeous. The grain from the ash shows through really nicely, and the blonde finish matches the maple neck/board very well.

The neck is one of the nicest I've ever felt on a P-Bass. My problem is that I have 4 P-Basses + 3 Jazzes, so I'm feeling a bit guilty.

Tone-wise, it's probably closest to my E-Series Japanese P ('84 - '87). A little bit brighter than my '75 P or my '50s Classic. Very punchy. I think the stock pickup is the same one they use in the American Vintage '62 Reissue P. But the tone knob seems to allow more variation in tones than the tone knobs on the other 3. (Oddly enough, all 4 of my P's have maple boards. Just seemed to work out that way.)

I'm part of a group of vocal 60th Anniversary P boosters here on TB, so understand the source, but this is the best-feeling P neck I personally have ever played (not too chunky, but just enough to feel just right) and one heck of a great-sounding and -looking high-quality bass. Bumparooni.

I totally agree about the neck, Soxhats. Both of my adult sons are also bass players. One is in Texas and one in Mississippi. I was telling them what a sweet neck this thing has. Big tone, too! Thanks for the bump...

I'm kind of surprised that there hasn't been more interest in this. I'll give it about another week. If nobody wants it by then, I guess I'm supposed to keep it... ("Sorry baby, I TRIED to sell it!")

I went by GC today and they didn't have one I could try. I'm gonna look at another GC tomorrow. If I like it I'll let you know, but I doubt I'll find one.

I live near a GC in Memphis, and they have one. I was in Nashville recently and they also had one. I'm kind of surprised the Denver one doesn't have one.

By the way Robin, I checked out your profile. Very impressive resume', my man! You've played and studied with some of the greats...

Jeff, don't you think you're being a bit presumptuous? His resume is impressive, but not because of the greats he's played with, but because Tim Tebow is his quarterback. Get on the wagon will ya!

Yeah, silly me! Y'know what? I actually like Tebow and wish him well. It must be tough having everybody and their brother (as well as your own owner!) basically saying you don't belong in the NFL. He's one heck of a competitor. Okay, rant over. Back to your regularly-scheduled thread...

LOL . . . I can't say Tebow has had much to do with my career, but to tie this OT together, Christian McBride invited me and some other Jazz Aspen students to play football with him on a day off once.

If you saw him and then me, you would know I declined.

I tried one of the other GC yesterday, no luck. There's one more in town I'm gonna stop at on Sunday after a gig nearby.

I did play some other Fender P's and have to say their quality is better than they were 5 years ago.
