This appears to be a very unpopular bass.

I asked about the popularity (or lack thereof) of the Am Std Jazz bass in a post a few months ago, and was accused of "fishing," and "dinged" for rule infraction, as opposed to recieving the "adult" response I was looking for - that being a conversation about the apparent lack of interest in thie bass here, and elsewhere.

So, again I pay my "dues," and find the answer the hard way.

I don't believe the jazz bass is unpopular, especially the post 2007 American made Fenders. I think a bad economy has a lot to do with basses not selling as quickly as they could. Your bass looks fantastic. Good luck with the sale!

^^ +1 ^^

I think the Jazz Bass is the most popular bass of all time.
If not, then it's right behind the P Bass.

A seller naturally wants the most he can get for something.
A buyer wants the best deal he can get.
Sometimes they can come to an agreement as to what the
market will bear.

The only reason something (and I mean
ANYTHING from a book to a steamship) doesn't sell is that
the price is higher than anyone is willing to pay at the time.
Often this has little to do with true value.

It is strictly market driven, and the economy factors into the equation in a major way.
When money's tight, prices go down everywhere.

I can only hazard a guess at 8-9 lbs... Lightest Jazz I could find!

As a fellow Jazz bass lover, I'll give this a bump.

Economy is down and people have gifts to buy for the holidays. I hope you can hold out and not discount this beauty too much!

GLWTS!

Near Los Angeles... Need cash, and have too many basses already! But thanks for asking!

Getting close to selling a beautiful 4003, if this one doesn't go soon... I KNOW that bass will sell!!

Honestly, I'd prefer to keep 'em all!! Had a gig that required the Jazz, as well as a Precision... Bought 3 basses at that time (Jazz, P, and 4003). I may only be able to keep one... I'm hoping to change the circumstances soon, so I don;t have to sell anything else!

I already have a ton of recording gear up for sale - mics, and Ampex pre-amps predominantly. Two of the Ampex pres are attached to 1/4" decks that actually work (Ampex 600)!!

GLWTS!
Thanks for the "bump!"

Agree with lousy economy... Been down for several years... And that is also part of the reason I must sell so much gear...

I've been outta town hustling some gigs... That has helped... Wish I could work more near home! But "money talks."

This is my 2nd Jazz... 1st was a '72 ash/maple that weighed a TON! This one is far more comfortable to play, and actually sounds better - likely due to lighter weight of the alder, as opposed to the really heavy ash. Hate to give it up... But really have to pick one - maybe 2 - and make it work.
