FS: Fender American Deluxe Precision Bass w/ Sadowsky Preamp - **FINAL** PRICE DROP

Sign in to disble this ad
Updated for final price drop. If it doesn't sell I'll just keep it.

Beautiful Fender American Deluxe Precision Bass in Amber finish with Rosewood board. It's a 2005 model in excellent condition with a great neck, and has been lightly used. Includes original Fender hard shell case and accessories.

I replaced the 18 volt Fender preamp with a Sadowsky preamp with Vintage Tone Control (VTC) circuit. The Sadowsky pre is warmer, punchy, and less harsh compared to the stock Fender pre. The VTC is essentially a passive tone control that functions when the preamp is engaged as well as when by-passed. I will include the stock Fender 18 volt preamp, pots, wiring, and knobs with the bass.

I like this bass and it plays great, but my vintage reissue P’s are where it’s at for me right now so I’d like to find this one a new home.

*** Price is $1000 *** shipped in the CONUS and PayPal is fine. Below are links to the bass on MF and the Sadowsky preamp.

Updates:

The guy I bought this bass from stated he had used it only in the studio for a project. When I received the bass, I could tell that was the case. It could have easily passed for brand new. I added pictures of the front and back of the headstock. Note that this is a 60th anniversary edition. Also, I had the Sadowsky preamp professionally installed as I am not handy with that sort of thing.

It is one of the lighter basses I have owned and very comfortable to wear at approximately 8 lbs. I would be shipping from Indianapolis and we have FedEx and UPS hubs here so shipping ground is usually fairly quick. I normally ship FedEx and take packages to the customer center hub near the airport rather than a Kinkos type drop center.

Action is very nice. When I got the bass, I had my tech go over it top to bottom. There were a few high frets way up on the neck that he took care of.

I'm off to New Jersey on business this afternoon, returning Thursday evening. I might be able to check in on TB during the evenings, but if I am slow to respond, you know why.

John

Had a good question from an interested party. I thought I would cut and paste it in from the PM exchange:

Q: You say it has passive tone control. Does that mean that you can switch from active to passive and still get something close to the standard P sound?

A: Yes you can. It has a push/pull pot on the tone control knob to go between active and passive. The really cool thing though is that the tone knob functions when the bass is in active mode as well as passive mode. Most preamps don't have this feature which is another reason I chose the Sadowsky. You can read more about it from the link in my thread.

In passive mode with P pup solo'd, it basically sounds the same as the Americal Standard P bass of today, with the ability roll in the J pickup at the bridge or solo the J pickup. Hope this helps.

Also, the neck is a P width at 1.625" at the nut and has 22 frets.

Mid-week bump. Several have expressed interest. Who's going to blink first?
