This is a 2004 Fender American Standard Jazz. This is during the "black pickguard/S1 switch" era of the Am. Standards. Personally, I always thought that the black finish went best with the black 'guard. With the rosewood board it gives this bass a sweet stealth look.
Great playing, great sounding, just like a Fender Jazz ought to. The strings are TI Jazz Flats, which you can read tons of pages about in the Strings forum if you feel so inclined. I have the TI flats on my Precision, too. They're some of the best strings on the market, IMO.
Cosmetically, she's in very good shape. There are no major dings, scratches, chips, or cracks. There is some play wear on the back and the front. This is in the form of tiny swirl mark/scratches that you get from playing with a pick and occasionally hitting the bass. I imagine the previous owner from myself was a little energetic, as there are these marks not only on the pickguard, but also on the body between the bridge pickup and the pickguard. They're not immediately obvious unless you're close up and in direct light. Similarly, there are some small wear marks on the back, and only one that I would classify as I genuine scratch, which is very small. I only point it out for full disclosure, as people like to know what they are getting! Otherwise, it's in great shape. As you can see from the pics, it's hard to capture them. I can get more detailed pictures up tomorrow if people are interested.
It will come shipped in a Roadrunner standard gig bag.
Argh, I don't want to deal with Ebay! I would rather give a good deal to a TB'er.
