It's Z0 serial number (should be 2000?). No Mod.

Bump for whomever is the lucky buyer, I have the older (98) brother also in, I believe Ocean Turquoise (discontinued), have a 99 P-bass in the same color. Nice fit finish and tone on both, slap a white pearl pickguard on there and dig in!!

Daahoud, Fender finally returned my call and they cannot find any info regarding that basses serial number. I wonder what that's about?

Good luck with the sale.
I have had many fender basses, but half of them are NOT in their database.
Ask Fender again if they haver all the information of every single Fender American Bass.

I bought it from very famous Endorsed Musician. That's it.

Jeff from Fender said this.

I noticed he said he bought it from an endorsed musician. If that’s the case, the number may not be in our system. It could have been snagged off the line by one of our artist relations guys and sent out before the serial number was ever recorded in our database. It could also be a warranty replacement neck.

Best Regards,
Jeff Krause

Consumer Relations Department

Thanks again, and good luck with the sale.

I also want to state that I think that neck is gorgeous.
Wish I could truly afford her.

Let me know when she sells. I enjoy looking at her.

To be clear: I do not believe anything "crooked is afoot". Jeff Krause has helped me with a wealth of information in the past. Your bass is pristine, so not likely a replacement neck, besides, your word and your feedback rating makes a statement towards honesty.
It seems to me that someone in Fender Relations saw a beautiful bass completed when someone important needed one, and this was spirited away to them.

The sole, and 100% truthful reason I decided not to buy her, is because I am a very poor musician, and came to my senses that food is more important for the next 2 weeks than buying this bass. I wish you luck in your sales and hope someone ends up very happy with this pristine Jazz. I felt this should be public, so as to not tarnish the buying public's opinion through my failure to buy.

Best wishes to all reading these pages. BBak.
