Hmmm. Same state. Too bad I have nothing to offer you. Purty though.

I think the B string sounds fine, especially for a 34" scale. In answer to some PMs I'd prefer to sell the bass rather than trade.

I know you prefer a sale (so do I) but as no one seems to have cash these days, I'll just toss this out there - as I have for anyone with a "jazz 5" for sale...

I have a Fender Custom Shop Jazz 4 for sale/trade....

What's the shape on the neck? Was this a 2008 where the model specs changed? meaning, not having 2007 specs?

I have a very similar white 2001 V and it has a strong B IMO. I've typically had 35" 5 strings for that reason but the string through body really helps the B. Mine has a white pick guard and I have to say, I like the tort better but I've not had good luck finding a replacement pick guard. Anyone know where I can get one? All the guards I've seen are for the deluxe V. Nice bass!

I have to say I don't know anything about different neck shapes. The serial number starts Z7 but the neck is stamped Jan. '08. It's 1 7/8" at the nut like I thought all American Standard five strings are. Maybe someone can help here. Sorry, I just don't know about the history of this model.

They made a change in 2008 and started using a high mass vintage bridge, Hipshot tuners, thinner finish, SKB rectangular case, etc. I couldn't tell from the pictures whether the bridge or tuners confirmed what I was hoping for. Any help with that would be most appreciated!

Would you be interested in a Spector Rebop 5 in excellent condition for the Fender?

This is definitely after that change. As I remember, in the late 90's they were called American Standard, then it became American Series, then by '08 it was back to American Standard. The American Series had that S1 switching. I don't recall 5 string basses at that time. Anyway, this is the newest version with what you describe. The tuners are smaller than the ones on my '96 American Standard P. They have the "F" on them. It came with this case. I didn't know about the rectangular cases. Bought it new at GC in Jan. '09 if that explains why it might be the wrong case. The Spector is a great looking instrument but I'd prefer to sell. Thanks.
