I have a Fender Custom Shop Jazz 4 for sale/trade.... Fender Custom Shop Jazz |

I've typically had 35" 5 strings for that reason but the string through body really helps the B. Mine has a white pick guard and I have to say, I like the tort better but I've not had good luck finding a replacement pick guard. Anyone know where I can get one? All the guards I've seen are for the deluxe V. Nice bass! |

The serial number starts Z7 but the neck is stamped Jan. '08. It's 1 7/8" at the nut like I thought all American Standard five strings are. Maybe someone can help here. Sorry, I just don't know about the history of this model. |

Any help with that would be most appreciated!

As I remember, in the late 90's they were called American Standard, then it became American Series, then by '08 it was back to American Standard. The American Series had that S1 switching. I don't recall 5 string basses at that time. Anyway, this is the newest version with what you describe. The tuners are smaller than the ones on my '96 American Standard P. They have the "F" on them. It came with this case. I didn't know about the rectangular cases. Bought it new at GC in Jan. '09 if that explains why it might be the wrong case. The Spector is a great looking instrument but I'd prefer to sell. Thanks. |
