FS - Fender American Vintage 75 reissue - rosewood blocked & bound w/pearl inlays

OK....this one hurts...plain and simple, a financial decision....

Up for sale is a '05 Fender American Vintage '75 reissue in great shape...all stock except for Schaller strap locks & Hipshot D tuner...

The tone is soo freakin nice it kills me to do this...but baby boy #2 cometh and that is more important to be prepared for...really...it sounds sooo damn good...plays wonderfully since I got it set up...neck is awesome!!...and it only weighs about 8.5-8.75 lbs!!!

Only issue to speak of is a tiny nick/scratch on the headstock (i will upload a pic to point it out) and the upper horn strap locks originally installed (when I got it) came out nice at the bottom of the bass but the screw broke off on the upper horn...I had my tech take it out when I had it set up and he used a dowel and installed my Schaller strap lock...hardly even visible and a non issue overall...and I lost a screw on the G string saddle, so I have a temporary saddle from a PBass in its place...I will include the original saddle with a screw missing...just disclosing as I would want others to do!

Comes with a hardshell case (you can see it in my avatar) not sure if it is the original case but it is a plushy hardshell Fender case...the original Fender tuning key that I took off to put the Hipshot on will be included as well...ALSO...I am keeping the chrome pickup cover so it will NOT be included...I need to get $1100 firm plus actual shipping costs to Canada or the USA...**Please note, US buyers MAY incur some brokerage fees upon arrival - I will TRY and ship in a method to minimize that amount if at all possible**

Thank you and find her a good home...

one more thing...re:trade options...

...I know someone will eventually ask whether or not a trade option might be a possibility...it MAY...but it would have to be one of these plus cash...

Fender RoadWorn Jazz sunburst + cash
Fender MIJ/CIJ Jazz Bass + cash
Squier Classic Vibe Jazz + more cash
or perhaps a Lakland jazz as well + a bit of cash...depending..

Bottom line is this SHOULD BE a cash only deal (PayPal preferred) but I may listen on a trade plus cash deal for the right bass of a lesser value, I need some cash in pocket after the smoke clears...I am particular enough that I should be able to tell you right away if interested...so..feel free to shoot me a PM and we can go from there...thanks TB'ers and good luck...

Hopefully no one snags this too soon as I want to use it Thursday and Friday of this week...but I am truly going to hate to let this one go as the tone on this bass is so divine!!!!

back up to the top....

This one is still up on an auction elsewhere (take a guess) until Sunday....but I thought I would give TB'ers a shot to get it first...the lowest I can go on this is $1100 plus actual shipping to your location...the box is packed and ready to go...it is 33lbs. package with the hardshell case in the box and box dimensions are 50 X 21 X 6 inch..shipping from postal code:
S4S 1S9

lemme know....thanks!

bump...

Not sure why this one is still here....seems to me the price point is pretty darn good considering I see a number of other basses made outside the US asking more...$1100 plus actual shipping is great price for an outstanding sounding and playing Fender AV 75 reissue in great shape...any interest??? The other "auction" closes on Sunday so act soon!!!!

Just curious why you are keeping the pickup cover?

keeping the cover....

I am keeping the cover to put on another jazz beater that I have...instead of having to order another one...these things are 15$ so it wouldn't be a deal breaker really...it came to me without the chrome pickup cover or "f" ashtray so I ordered in the pickup cover...

Plus...the bass is packed up in a box already ready to ship...so I would have to reopen the box to add the chrome piece...

hope that helps solve your curiousity...

Qwench, let me tell you about my experience, for what it's worth. I also have an AV '75 Reissue Jazz that I got new in 2000. Excellent bass that was my go-to for years. A year or two ago, I thought about selling it. Only reason was because I had a bunch of other basses that were getting more playing time. I offered it on TB, but didn't get any serious offers. I pulled it after a few days. I recently started playing it again, and it's like a re-awakening. I had forgotten how great it's made and how good it sounds.

My point is, I'm glad I hung onto it. If you don't absolutely need the money, you might want to hang onto it. Keep it in the case for awhile, then get it out and play it again. I'm guessing you'll fall in love all over again...

thanks Jeff...

Yes sir...I absolutely understand what you are saying...and I would LOVE to hang on to it...I could use the cash more than the bass right now though...and I already regret it even though it isn't gone yet...

The one thing I will say is i DO find it really odd that the interest level is as low as it is...I had a few bites and nibbles but nothing solid...these things are $1799 plus tax new and here we have it for muuuucccch less...and in great shape...I find it weird that a Lakland Skyline that cost $1200ish new is on here for $1100 and it is gone right away?? or something that cost $1300-1400 new is on here for $1100-1200 bucks and folks are all over it...but this one is $1100 for something that is basically $1800 new and not a lot of action...seems weird...

As much as I will regret it...once I get through the next lil' lean times...I will buy an actual Vintage Fender next time as opposed to a reissue...'til then I will gig my beater basses.....thanks for the bump though!!!

Those are awesome basses for sure! $1100.00 plus shipping is a great price too! GLWS

I prefer the rosewood versions over the maple fretboards anyday!
