SOLD
Purchased from a TBer in January 2009, here's a Fender CIJ '51 Precision RI (birthday unknown) with the following upgrades:
* Replacement vintage string thru bridge with individual string saddle for better intonation.
* Replacement Seymour Duncan SCPB3 hot single coil pickup. Gives that pure vintage single coil P sound. Broad range frequency response with great low end, punchy mids, crisp highs. Stock pickup will be included...if I can find it.
* Professionally routed and installed Fender Custom shop '62 Jazz pickup with cloth leads in the bridge position. Located in the same spot as the Fender '62 Jaco relic; 4" from the rear of the bridgeplate to the center of the pickup pole pieces.
* Because of this additional bridge PU, the previous owner (TB's Chef) wired in a Vol/Vol stack and Tone.
* I added chrome Hipshot O-ring knobs and all three are there. [Man, can I mod a bass or what!!]
This is a transparent mustard/school bus yellow w/a maple board, black pg and chrome hardware. The thumbrest and both bridge & middle pu covers are installed. There are black Schaller strap retainer buttons and I can include Schaller chrome locks (for strap ends) if you like; or, if you'd rather, I can install non-Schaller buttons in chrome and leave it at that.
The neck is 1.75" wide and has a true chunky P depth. The narrow, low profile vintage fretwire is in great condition. I've only used flats (currently D’Addario Chromes) and if I recall correctly, I received it that way too. It has proper vintage reverse wound tuners that are in excellent working order and condition. The bass feels very light and resonant and is great fun to play. Fender Japan build quality is outstanding!
For the most part, the assorted dings acquired over time (I believe only one from previous owner) are minuscule and barely discernible. However, my fingers say a few are a bit more than that and the pics show all but what my fingers tell me.
I truly apologize for the inconvenience, but in recent years, w.site technology has changed to the extent that blind folks such as myself are no longer able to efficiently utilize sites such as PhotoBucket and the like. If you drop me a PM/email (BrettsBass@comcast.net) though, I will be more than happy to email my pics to you right quick. Of course, you can always just scroll to post#5 and you will find my pics posted by one of the coolest fellow TBers, smurfco.
For now though, following are the locations of what the pics depict:
* On the face of the headstock; another on the back a mere fraction of that.
* On the outer face edge midway down from the tip of the lower horn.
* On the back edge behind the jack and close by, an even smaller one near the face edge.
* Coming up the upper bout behind your elbow: Two on the side close to the face and another just around the back edge.
* Part way up the outer back edge of the upper horn.
$OLD! 600/OBO shipped in a nice Warwick hard case and boxed. Paypal preferred. Sorry, no international and no trades (I need to pay for a custom build).
Thanks for looking TB!

E-mail me the photos to cboehmig at gmail dot com and I'd be more than happy to host them on Photobucket and throw them up in this thread for you. (Plus, I just want to see the bass.)
Thanks! |

Communications coming your way man.
