I recently bought this bass here on TB and as much as I like it, it's not going to replace my John Kallas Jazz Bass. I put a new set of strings on it and gave it a minor set-up and then played one show with it on the 4th of July. Now I find it's just sitting in my studio not getting used which is a shame.
The upgrades done to this bass really made it a much better instrument. I love the bridge and the tuners. And the pickups really sound fantastic. A BIG improvement over the stock PUs.
Here is what it's previous owner had to say about it:
Up for sale is my MIM Fender Classic 60's Jazz Bass. This guitar is in excellent to mint condition. This is a rare Fender Burgundy Mist bass with the matching headstock. I was told that only 200 were made. I have had Seymour Duncan Antiquity II pickups installed, and the bridge has been upgraded with a Hipshot chrome brass Type A bridge. Also, the tone cap has been upgraded with a NOS K 404-9 oil in paper capacitor, and the tuners have been upgraded to Gotoh Res-O-Lite tuners, which are lighter, and have a better (28:1) gear ratio. It comes with the Fender Deluxe gig bag . The s/n of the bass is MZ 2113840. I contacted Fender, and according to them, this bass was manufactured in 7/2002
Asking $650.00 $599.00 shipped in the CONUS
(lower 48 states) obo, for this great looking, sounding and playing bass.
