FS: Fender, G. Gould, G&L basses

All prices include shipping in the 48 states only. I'll ship elsewhere but you pay the extra.

The ONLY trades I'm interested in are:
-Sadowsky NYC Vintage P4, non-maple board, chunky P width neck, 8.5 lbs or less, solid color preferred
-Mike Lull P4 with P-width neck, rosewood fingerboard only, clear finish on headstock

First is a nice Fender USA 1957 Reissue Precision bass. The body finish is trans white nitro lacquer over ash, very nicely done and in great condition. There's one very small dent in the finish down by the tone control on the edge of the body, and a small faintly scratched area near the neck plate on the back. The holes haven't been drilled for the pickup or bridge covers. Condition overall is very clean and the bass is quite lightweight at 8.4 lbs. Comes in a nice Lakland USA cream tolex hardcase. I don't have the original case or chrome pickup/bridge covers, just the factory paperwork. Sounds and plays great but I only like super chunky necks and find this one too thin for me.

Price is $900 shipped SOLD

Second is a rare one, I haven't seen any other 4 strings like this for sale used. It's a G. Gould graphite necked 4 string. The fingerboard is a beautiful piece of cocobolo, the body is gloss black, the bass is wonderfully lightweight at 8.2 lbs but it sounds terrific and balances perfectly. The pickups are EMGs, a P4 at the neck and a 35TW at the bridge, so the bridge can be switched between single and double coil tones. The controls are vol/blend/bass/treble boost and cut and the preamp is EMG. I put Hipshot ultralight tuners on, the original Gotohs will be included. This is a somewhat unusual graphite neck in that it has a truss rod and can be adjusted. Works great, I set the neck how I wanted it and it's just stayed there since.
I love the sound and feel but it overlaps too much with my 17th Street bass that's got the same pickups/electronics and weighs a pound less. Comes in a well-used but solid Roadrunner molded black hardcase. Here’s the thread I bought it from: FS: Geoff Gould GGi4 (Graphite Neck - 4 String) Think Modulus!

Price is $1150 shipped SOLD

Third is a really nice G&L LB-100. The body finish is beautiful Lake Placid Blue, it's a bit lighter in tone than Fender's color - somewhere between LPB and Ice Blue metallic. Overall condition is very clean, there's some minor playing wear on the pickguard and the end of the headstock but that's it. The frets have only light wear and the bass is fairly lightweight at 8.8 lbs. This bass has Schaller BML tuners stock from the factory, they install these when they run out of the G&L tuners. This is a super nice Precision style bass with great vintage tone and feel. Comes in the original molded hardcase.

Price is $650 shipped SOLD

It's a #5, 7.25" vintage-style radius and 1.75" wide at the nut. Just like a vintage Precision!

They're wide and thin. If I had the inclination for another P in my stable I'd be emptying my wallet because yours is gorgeous. Though 5 P-basses is a bit much, even for me.

So what do we consider chunky? I think my 10 string Chapman Stick is chunky and my Warwick Vette 5 string up there too

Yeah, I was laughing at Brad (good naturedly) as heretofore he has been known as a "skinny neck only" kinda guy. Kinda ironic that now he's in a wide, chunky phase...

...and bump for one of the best guys you'll ever deal with

I agree with that wholeheartedly. He also may have the best taste in basses on this forum!

Love that Gould. Wish I had something to trade for it or the cash to buy it outright.

Normal 34" scale, very comfortable.
