FS: Fender Jaguar Bass project w/goodies!

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey there TB, the day has finally come. I have to part ways with a project that I sadly no longer have the drive to complete; my vision is in need of some help not to mention bills need paying...so this will have to be the first to go.

This is my Jaguar Bass stripped, sanded down and ready to be sprayed. The body has not been sealed. It's a DIY kit! This is one bass -- I didn't purchase the neck and body separately. It's all ready for you to refinish! edit: I thought this maybe made it seem as if I'm selling a homemade bass. This is definitely, 100% Fender.

Comes with all the original chrome, screws, tuners, pickups, switches, preamp, "ID tag" and hex wrench. I also kept the pots after desoldering them, just in case. The neck is nice and straight. There's a small scuff mark on the back of it, however you have to be looking and cannot even feel it. There is a small ding on the inside of the rear curve of the body which is pictured. It will disappear through a little sanding or possibly using the steam trick to raise it out. I believe it will have no impact on the final finish.

The headstock has been painted black, but needs a bit of touching up around the edge and a final coat if you desire to keep it black -- otherwise just sand it back down, no problem. The pickguard will either need sanding or a coat of black. I had some problems with the paint at the final moment and so was unable to apply the final coats, which is why I sanded them back to near-done. The reason they're black is because I was going to reproduce the look of Thurston Moore's green Jazzmaster; I think a trans green would look nice on this.

Here is the ding on the curve.

This is the edge that needs touching up, which should be nothing. Sorry for the blurriness, but it's not that easy to see from a distance and my camera sucks at macro.

About the "goodies"...

Free set of Fender nickel-plated steel rounds, .45-.105

I have the original Jaguar bridge, but it is currently mounted on another bass. I also have a brand-new Gotoh 201 bridge. Please specify which bridge you want.

SUPA BONUS DEAL!
I have a brand-spankin'-new pair of Dimarzio Model J pickups, creme covers. They will most likely fit under the Jag's black covers as well, but I haven't even opened them aside from the case. I bought these for $95. You can have these with the bass for an additional $50. If not, I'll sell them alone for $70.

I am asking $430 SHIPPED within the continental US and through Paypal, so if you want the Model Js as well, it'll be $480. I don't have a hard case to give you, but I'll pack it in enough bubble wrap to stop small arms fire.

Thank you!

This is a tempting little bundle here, you've already done the stripping work...

Did you strip the headstock prior to spraying it black?

Yes, I stripped and sanded it, then hit it with sand-and-seal before priming it and painting it black. I've never seen anyone talk about it, but I wouldn't imagine the process for getting a Jaguar headstock decal would be too different from getting, say, a Jazz Bass one from Fender.

Hey, thanks.

I feel the price on this is quite fair...however, depending on the shipping cost maybe that could be negotiated a bit.

Indeed the shipping cost can be negotiated...

Here's the new price: $430/$480 SHIPPED. This is absolutely the lowest I can go.

Last bump for this thread. Its Evilbay auction ends in a little over 24 hours, but I can of course cancel that if anyone here wants it.
