FS Fender Jazz Bass USA 1978 Natural

2 Attachment(s)
This USA made Fender Jazz Bass manufactured in 1978 I believe (S8850337) features an ash body with a traditional natural gloss finish, 3 bolt-on Maple neck and a Maple fingerboard with Pearl Block inlays. This 34 year old jazz bass is in excellent condition with a straight neck with little wear and no major dings on the body. The hardware is not the original – silver pots, a plastic cover on the input jack and a Bad Ass II bridge.

I’ve owned this bass for 10 years and used it for a two year period to do some teaching one day per week. So I’ve really not played much it in the time I’ve owned it. I’ve had no work done on it apart from a professional set up. I think its in fantastic condition for its age with a straight neck showing hardly any wear and not even much in the way of belt rash. One previous owner wrote his name on the body just behind the neck which is not really noticeable, but should be mentioned. It comes with its original Fender case which is also in good condition.

I am cutting back on my collection and have successfully sold 2 basses during the past year on Talkbass.

Priced to sell - cash only, no trades. $1,400 or best offer. US sales only. Thank you!

weight?

what does she weigh?

electronics and pots original?

JPBass 03-19-2013 03:54 PM

I dont have a scale but these late 70 Jazz Basses are on the heavier side. I would estimate at around 11lb.

I do not believe the pots/electronics are original.

What kind of pickups does it have?

JPBass 03-20-2013 05:19 PM

They look like the originals to me - though I am not positive. Thanks!
