FS: Fender Marcus Miller Jazz 4 w/ Delano PUP's

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello Hello. Due to the fact that I just got a 5 string and am broke as a joke and can't afford to keep two basses around, I'm putting my Fender MM Jazz 4 up for sale.

Some details...
It was made in 2004, I am the second owner. It's been my sole bass for 4 years.

It is in used condition. It has some small dings in the headstock and on the edges of the body (I've tried to highlight these in the pics), but overall it's a very nice looking bass. One more issue...the neck pickup volume knob came loose at some point and I've never bothered to get it re-attached. (see pics)

I've upgraded the pickups to Delano JMVC 4 FE/M2 split coil humbuckers. These are incredibly nice pickups which give a very rich and versatile sound. If you were to drop a nice pre-amp in the bass I honestly think you'd have a tone machine that would rival any 4 string Jazz out there.

If I weren't moving to 5 strings, I would definitely be hanging onto this bass. Simply put, it's a player. It's active/passive switchable and is very versatile. I'm not particularly a fan of Marcus Miller, and his tone was never my goal. This bass simply delivers great Jazz Bass tone, looks boss, and plays like butter.

The bass will ship with a beat-up Fender tweed colored gig bag. The gig bag is useable, but you'll probably want to replace it at some point. The chrome pickup cover is also included.

Price is $775 insured/shipped in the CONUS. $725 for a local sale.

If you have specific picture requests, I'll do my best to accomodate you.

Thanks for looking.

If you check out http://www.youtube.com/user/vizualsuplex22 any of the MiMo videos feature the MM with the Delanos. As far as weight, I'm not sure. I don't own a scale, but I'd guess maybe 9 lbs.

Awesome bass. I really have considered those Delano pickups, care to share anymore insight about them since it is hard to find any info about them.

They're pretty versatile. Compared to the stock pups they're a little less snappy and bright, which is what I was going for. Not to say they're dark, but I wanted to tame that Marcus "sizzle." Great bass response, great presence in a live mix.
