FS: Fender MIA Jazz 1993 Longhorn/Boner Black $540

Got this in a trade awhile back. Great bass and I took my time in giving it a new setup for the Arizona weather. Has some cracks in it which you'll see in the pics. No biggie from what I can tell and what I've been told. Either way, this bass has KILLER sustain for a Fender even and is the 9th boner I've gotten my hands on and noodled with. Only thing I can say about them is they seem to be the most consistent and awesome Fender's I've played on.

I swapped it when I wanted money for my other bass, figured I could keep it, just got a bill from school. Underestimate on my part/forgot I had a scholarship that only carried through one semester, not both.

Simply, $540 shipped with a nice Musiciansfriend vintage suede case. Very nice case. I'll entertain offers and a few partial trades.

Pickups were upgraded to custom shop pickups (definitely an upgrade) and it has a Gotoh bridge. You'll get it in the same condition as I got it, with all of the same accessories. Original bridge is there but no original pickups. PM me if you're interested

Excuse some of the pics, I had to do a print screen thing/was too lazy to go find my g/f's camera. We're trying to move and yeah... first thing she packs a month before is all the dishes, cups, kitchenware.

Man! If that neck wasn't cracked...This would be a NICE Companion to my Precision Plus.

It's still a solid neck really. It's straight right now and no problems. I'd keep it but financials say otherwise.

Previous TB'er guaranteed it was a good to go bass and neither of the cracks should cause any concern. I set it up twice already in the short time since I've had it and no quirks period. I'll put out the same guarantee. I'll also say that with the crack, this bass hasn't reached thunderbird status in frailty .

Please, someone swipe this asap, could use the money.

I have a 92 and it to has one of those cracks in it up near the top of the skunk stripe. Doesn't affect the playability or tone in any way.

tempted to buy this - I could have one boner w/ rounds and one with flats... that would be sweet!

Buy it, keep the original neck, get yourself a fretless warmoth. Wenge for the board and Mahogany neck. It'd be cool if they were the same color. I did that with some Mexi-Fenders, what you're saying. It's great having two identical basses then setting them up differently or fretted and fretless.

Every now and then just walk by, it's like looking into a mirror and realizing you're a sexy stud.

the crack on the back of the neck isn't what concerns me here. . . is that a crack below the E tuner on the headstock?

ready, set, NOOOoooOOOOooOO

Yes. I just had the bass checked out yesterday by a local guitar luthier. He said the crack on the back shouldn't be of any concern and that the crack on the Headstock was common/not bad either. The ones on the back are on the surface and said Fender was being experimental those years/he's seen a few other boners that had cracks in the finish.

Overall he said neither of them are a cause for concern. He also noted that there were no signS of those cracks having been caused by abuse or misuse.
