SOLD!
For Sale: Fender MIJ Mustang Reissue shortscale in Fiesta Red with White Pearl pickguard. Build date is probably 2008 or 2009 from the serial number (see pics). This bass is in absolutely minty fresh condition, nary a flaw. It's never been gigged, never been near a cigarette. I've learned an expensive lesson: Shortscale basses just don't work for me. My loss is your gain.
Mustangs tend to be a little neck-heavy, so I replaced the factory Fender tuners with Hipshot HB6Y 3/8" Ultralights (chrome). They're much lighter and the instument is well balanced now. I will include the original Fender tuners, or switch the bass back to the Fenders and include the Ultralights. Whatever the buyer wants. Note that with the Hipshots installed I have made no attempt to conceal the original tuner screw holes on the back of the headstock. Does that make this a Frankentang?
There isn't much more to say. The photo gallery tells the story: This Mustang is in as-new condition. If you have any questions please ask. Any imperfections you may see in the photos are either specs of dust or reflections.
I'm including a very nice G&L gigbag, and everything will go inside a box. It will be very well packed for shipping.
Weighs exactly 7 pounds on a digital postal scale with the Ultralight tuners installed. Would be a few ounces heavier with the Fender tuners.
Price is
$625 including ground shipping to the continental US. For that price you get:
- The Minty Fresh Mustang
- The Hipshot Ultralight Tuners
- The Original Fender tuners
- A like-new G&L Gigbag
- Ground shipping to the 48 states
What a deal!

PayPal preferred. I'll consider shipping to Canada but buyer needs to pay any excess above $30 on the shipping. Also I will not fudge the customs documents by claiming this is a gift. I know from recent experience that just doesn't work and will delay the shipment.
If you don't want the Ultralights at all, I'll knock off $50 and do it for $575 with only the stock Fender tuners. Mustang pictures by barnyardmadness - Photobucket
