One of the best and certainly the most unique of the made in Japan Fenders. Rosewood FB, edge dots, spruce top, active controls. Excellent condition, save for a couple of dings/finish chips seen in the photos below. Includes Fender padded gig bag and a fairly new set of Thomastik Jazz Flats, which are the idea string for this bass (IMHO).

Asking $700 shipped in the continental US.

I fell in love with these when they came out, but couldn't budget for one. I told my friend Ric if he ever sold his, please give me first refusal. He did, and I bought it. But I haven't played it in a while, and I need the $$ for another toy...

Mmmm, very tempting. I've never seen one, but now I want it. Could only trade, but then it'd be lopsided, so I'm sure it wouldn't work out for you. Good luck though, very interesting specimen.

Some have asked (in PMs) if the spruce top leads to feedback at high volume. The answer is no. This is not so much a hollow body as it is a semi-hollow, like a Fender Telecaster Thinline. You still get a nice woody sound from the bridge pickup. Also, the controls are volume, active tone, and blend (magnetic/piezo). I believe the magnetic pickup is a Lace.
