Sign in to disble this ad
FOR SALE - FENDER PRECISION LYTE 4-STRING BASS BLACK W/GOLD FLECK FINISH

It may not be an official "Deluxe" but the DiMarzio's make it it's own kind of Deluxe!
In great condition! Excellent bass with serious tone and playability - if you like P/J's this will definitely hit home! I just have to part with some of my gear b/c money needs to be coming in not out.

$500 shipped CONUS, PayPal please! If you're local, we can arrange pickup, of course! Somebody buy this bass b/c I might change my mind!

NO TRADES, PLEASE.

The Details:
  • These basses were typically Mahogony bodies
  • Smaller, lighter body, contoured heel
  • Black with some eye-catching gold flecks that look nice
  • Looks and feels a heck of a lot like a Rosewood fretboard.
  • 34" scale with 22 frets
  • Gold Hardware
  • P/J set up, upgraded to DiMarzio Model P/J pickups (DP126) - the perfect amount of punch, sound absolutely fantastic
  • Stock Active Preamp (Controls: Vol, Blend, Treble, Bass)
  • Made in Japan (Mid-90's)
  • 6.5 lbs - really!
  • Ships in a good-condition gigbag

In excellent condition, sounds great, plays killer! Smooth, fast, thin neck. You will NOT be disappointed!

** edit: These photos were taken before I put the DiMarzio's in I will have to snap a pic tomorrow! (Thanks themass for catching that for me!)

These are cool sweet basses. The Deluxe model was mahogany w/ natural finish and said Deluxe at the headstock logo... This one might not be a Deluxe model but it has gold hardware which was exclusive for the Deluxe model... strange.
Bump for a nice bass anyway!

Strange also that the guts in the cavity look like the Deluxe...
Thanks!

This is identical to the Lyte (non-Deluxe) that I bought new in 1989 - gold hardware and all. It's a great bass!

This is identical to the '92 MIJ Pbass Lyte I had in high school (mid-90's). I eventually put Barts in it, then foolishly sold it...

Great playing basses! I'm up to 9 basses now and don't need another one. Good luck.

Thanks!

I had one of these and though it was more beat up than that one. I must say it was one of the best playing basses I've ever had.

Good luck with the sale.

Correction: the Deluxe model does not say "Deluxe" at the head stock. The logo is just the same than on this one.
However the Deluxe model has 5 control knobs since it has a 3 band preamp.
Nice super comfy J type neck as per willsellout's question.
I'll never part with mine. It's my main go-to-bass for those gigs where you don't wish to risk an expensive bass, (this bass might not be expensive, but it certainly isn't a "cheap bass" )
They are a great value for the money IMHO, so much I often think of buying a second one and make it all passive...

Well it was corrected some time ago. I know it's not a Deluxe.
I have a thing with basses not getting played so for me, it was time.

Anyway - bump - still available for anyone who's interested in a killer 6.5lb P bass!
