FS: Fender Precision Lyte MIJ Super Clean

Sign in to disble this ad
!sold!

For sale is my Fender P Lyte in Tobacco Burst. Made in Japan.

For those not familiar, these have active electronics, a P/J configuration, and sport a 32" medium 34" scale.

The bass is super versatile and super easy to play. Light, and well balanced thanks to the small package making it an easy bass to play for long sessions, etc.

This bass is super clean other than the frets needing a slight cleaning and a tiny compression ding as shown in pics. The bridge had some pitting when I first got the bass and I was able to scrape most off with my fingernail. I am sure a polish would clean the rest right up for you.

Given the condition, I am asking $SOLD shipped conus OBO.

Thanks for looking and feel free to PM any questions or best offers.

Thanks.

RBM

Ya, Lytes are 34" scale, not 32". Looks like a beaut, though.

32s are out there. I had one with the same specs as a Lyte, but with different tuners and medium scale branded as a Jazz Special on the headstock, and not the model associated with Duff McKagan. (Sp?)

Lots of variations, especially for models built for the Japanese market that were not exported by Fender Japan.

Folks,

I was so dead certain it was 32" as I have owned a few and each seemed shorter and lighter than the next, but I just measured and you guys are right, it is 34".

I am VERY sorry for the confusion.

As of last night I sold this bass, but I have reached to the buyer to clarify this issue about scale in the event it was a consideration in making the purchase and I have offered a refund. Leaving the post open until I head back.

Meanwhile, I will correct the initial post.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I am embarrassed about how mistaken I have been about this for years now :/ On the lighter side, after amassing quite a collection of bass oddities over the years, I am delighted I get to keep learning new things.

Once again, sorry for the confusion folks, and thanks again.

LOL. I got a good chuckle out of that.

Makes me feel better cuz I don't like getting stuff wrong, especially when it comes to my Japanese basses. Could it be old age?

Anyway, thanks!

Yeah, like I said, sold it last night, but I am giving the buyer an opt out in light of the scale info. Hence I am leaving the post open.
