FS: Fender Precision Special "Cowpoke"

Sign in to disble this ad
These basses were only in production from 1994 to 1996.

This is a real player with several dings in the body which I've tried to document in the photos.

The color is "Vintage Blonde," it has a 22 fret maple neck with rosewood fretboard. Vintage style, "Licensed by Schaller" machine heads and bridge.

It has a special precision split coil pickup in the mid position and a special jazz bass single coil at the bridge controlled by an active preamp with bass and treble boost/cut.

It is all original except for the input jack and the 9 volt battery terminal which were replaced at some point.

I've also added the tort pick guard but the original black pick guard is included as well.

It comes with the original hard shell case, though this is well worn as can be seen in the photos.

Local deal in NYC area would be great though shipping can be arranged and we split the cost.

Not looking for trades right now I need the cash. $400 plus half shipping.

fixed and fixed...

By the way, I would sell it at $350 plus shared shipping costs with only the original black pick guard.

If I didn't already own one of these awesome basses, I would be all over this. I LOVE my Cowpoke and so does every engineer/soundman that I've ever worked with.

Just sayin'.

Thanks guys. If I didn't need the cash to take care of some bills I wouldn't have this on the block.

Since this one isn't getting any bites, I might put up my Jazz instead and keep this one.

Is the P bass pick up give a pretty solid P bass sound? Have you ever had flats on it?

I have not had flats on it. But the sound of the P pickup solo'd to me gives the classic P sound. Remember, the active preamp is a bass/treble boost/cut, so you can customize from there.

And it's gone locally at $350 with original BWB PG.

This thread will be closed. Thanks.
